| In January 2004 Daniel Fiorda exposed his “gun series” in an exhibition entitled LOOK at me NOW. The concept was to identify the myth and power of firearms in his work. Artistic in appearance, Fiorda’s guns reflect a strong, and ironic concept. Guns reflect fear, but at the same time they are empowering. Throughout time, society has gained a love/hate relationship with guns. Governments are constantly fighting battles between wars and domestic violence, reaching the utmost dis-respect for a killing frenzy when guns reach the hands of children, mothers, brothers, sisters and fathers.
Sarcastic? Ironic? Yes, Daniel Fiorda is making you aware of an issue, which has not been addressed correctly since the invention of this overpowering tool. Why?
